Salary: £15,233 (FTE £25,380)
Hours: 21 hours per week
Location: Community-based role (flexibility required, including occasional evenings/weekends) Birmingham
Our client is looking for a passionate and driven Community Engagement Officer to support BAME women experiencing domestic abuse within diverse communities.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference by raising awareness, delivering workshops, and ensuring women have access to the right support at the right time.
The Role
You will:
- Deliver community-based workshops raising awareness of domestic abuse (including financial abuse, budgeting, and debt advice)
- Engage with local communities through events and information stalls
- Provide advocacy, guidance, and support to women, empowering them to achieve their personal goals
- Conduct risk assessments and safety planning
- Manage a small caseload, offering signposting and referrals to specialist services
- Work collaboratively with external agencies including health, police, and support organisations
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports for stakeholders and funders
About You
You will be:
- Passionate about supporting women affected by domestic abuse
- A confident communicator with experience in community engagement or outreach
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Empathetic, non-judgemental, and committed to equality and inclusion
- Organised, with strong record-keeping and reporting skills
